Product lifespan depends heavily on how well the flooring is maintained and how the boat is stored and used over time. If a boat is left exposed to direct sun, weather, and seasonal elements year-round, it will significantly reduce the longevity of any marine flooring material. LKN Boat Interiors installs premium marine flooring systems such as Sleek Teak synthetic teak and HydroDeck closed-cell foam flooring. Most EVA foam manufacturers typically offer around a 3-year manufacturer warranty, with adhesion coverage often limited to 1 year. In contrast, Sleek Teak offers an extended warranty range of approximately 7–10 years depending on the product line and installation conditions. With proper care, regular cleaning, and reasonable protection from prolonged exposure, both systems are designed to provide many years of reliable performance on the water.

Pricing is based on the total square footage of the project. Areas with curves, rounded edges, or complex shapes typically create additional material waste during the cutting process, which is unfortunately beyond our control. Whenever possible, LKN Boat Interiors will strategically utilize smaller sections within cutout areas to maximize material efficiency and help minimize waste.

No, we come out to the boat to scan and then back out to do the installation.

If your boat has existing flooring that needs to be removed, this is handled as a separate service prior to installation. Removal can be a labor-intensive and time-consuming process, depending on the condition and type of material previously installed. LKN Boat Interiors charges $100 per hour for flooring removal. Proper removal and surface preparation are essential steps to ensure the best possible adhesion, fit, and long-term durability of your new marine flooring.

Travel distance depends on scheduling and current workload. The majority of projects for LKN Boat Interiors are completed in and around the Lake Norman area. However, we do travel for select projects. We’ve completed installations as far as the North Carolina coast, as well as multiple jobs at Lake Wylie. Availability for travel projects is evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on scheduling and project scope.

We do not remove or replace existing carpet. Removing carpet from lids or storage compartments can leave large gaps or voids that our flooring products are not designed to fill. However, we can install over existing carpet as long as the carpet is in excellent condition.
